This is some stuff I’ve been working on. Feel free to listen! The only reason it can’t be dl’ed is because you have to pay soundcloud for that… :/
it’s kind of noisy.

this is blowing my mind. dissonant, kind of sonic youth-y, but still definitely screamo. Some very, very vulnerable moments, and ‘Respire’ has a gorgeous string section. it’s pretty all over the place.
Battles - Ice Cream (Feat. Matias Aguayo) by weallwantsome1
omfg yall. new battles comin at cha. and it’s fucking sweet. I was worried when tyondai braxton left. his afro really pulled the band together. This is pretty awesome though. Now they have to have 7 or 8 other songs just as good. WILL THEY DO IT?!?!? maybe. That doesn’t mean I won’t go to see them if they come to Austin. Which they should. You know?
also, this:

I really got into this album in the last couple of days. It’s like a continuation of The Velvet Underground and Nico. I’d avoided it for a while because I’d always felt like the general consensus was that Nico sucks. Maybe she does, but she sucks in a way that’s, well, really cool. I’ve been really into ‘These Days’.
Very cool song, and one that The Dirty Projectors did a fantastic mutant sort of cover. Really cool stuff.
Just finished a Biology test this morning. Meh. Then I went to go teach/observe 8th grade English. It was pretty cool. They think I’m weird and really like that I wear moccasins sometimes. It honestly seems like a pretty cool job, and I’m glad I get the chance to see what it’s like before I commit further.
Anyway, I’m digging this. Honestly, not the vocals so much, but everything else is great. Really like the cover art. I don’t know how valid that claim is, though. I mean, cover art is only so much. And it’s so superficial. I mean, what about ‘Don’t Judge a book by its cover’. Shouldn’t that apply to music also? Maybe. But not here, because the music is pretty cool too. Kinda forgettable. Mostly I like the cover art.
Tyler The Creator - Yonkers (2011)
Every one on my dashboard is reblogging this but fuck it, I have to. This is the best Odd Future thing I’ve heard since ‘Rolling Papers’. ”I’m a fucking paradox, no I’m not, threesomes with a fucking triceratops” = best nonsensical opening line of 2011 I’d wager. The beat reminds me, strangely, of ‘Hard Knock Life’, except the bassline has become evil and the chirpy piano has been replaced by a Psycho-shower-scene percussive throb (the piano comes in a little later, almost jazzy, one of those seemingly incongruous elements Tyler integrates so skillfully). The video is great too.
